Unifoil Foils

Vyper

Designed by Adam Bennetts & Clifford Coetzer in search of the ultimate all-around surf foil, the Vyper was born. A cross between the Vortex and the Hyper it has the best attributes of each model. The carve and ease of turning of the Vortex, and the ease of pump and efficiency of the Hyper. The VORTEX range bridges the gap between short boarding and foil surfing with its speed and carving capabilities. The HYPER range is the original high aspect small wave/downwind machine that every other company has looked to for inspiration when creating something with maximum efficiency and glide.

The VYPER has a wingspan that is just wide enough to efficiently get you from A to B (the glide is unreal).

It has the perfect amount of sweep in the tips to roll the wing into the craziest of carves whilst wing tip breaches are a breeze to recover from (no ventilation issues here).

The thickness flaunts Unifoil’s remarkable speed we’ve all come to love, without sacrificing low-speed lift - which is great for recovery in between those critical carves and snaps in the whitewater.

The stability and glide of this design still blows my mind and because of this, a much smaller rear stab can be ridden, which massively enhances its turning capabilities and opens up a whole new world of ripping that you never thought was possible on a hydrofoil. Or, throw on a bigger rear stab and take it on a down-winding mission because the glide is unbelievable!

Whether you’re brand new to foiling, or a seasoned veteran, this stable, lightning-fast, maneuverable wing, will elevate your performance in the surf rapidly. It really is the best of both worlds, pumping like a HYPER, but carving like a VORTEX -

Welcome to the future of foiling, the VYPER!

Vyper 190 - 1225 cm2 - The largest in the range is aimed for the bigger riders at 85 kilos and up in medium conditions.

Vyper 170 - 1096cm2 - Probably going to be the favorite size if you already have your foiling legs and are looking to progress. Recommended for riders from 70kgs +

Vyper 150 - 967cm2 - For the smaller rider 60-70 kgs, or for the bigger guys who rip on big swell days.

Vyper 130 - 838cm2 - The smallest, suited for the younger riders or lightweights, 50kgs but will be used by many riders of bigger weights for a tow-in foiling.

Adam´s recommended rear stab for Vypers:

Vyper 130 - 14 flare (if towing)
Vyper 130 - 13/14 race 18 (if small guy surfing)
Vyper 150 - 13/14” race 18
Vyper 170 - 13/14” race 18
Vyper 190 - 12/13/14” race 18 (if surfing)
Vyper 190 - carve 16 (if wing dinging)

Hyper

The Hyper wing design screams high performance, it is ideal for the down-wind racer or for flat water pumping on very small swells. A wider wingspan means the foil has great speed and stability for its size. The Hyper series carries speed and pumps like nothing else on the market. This is because it boasts one of the highest aspect ratios on the market at around 6:1 for the range.

All team riders absolutely love the hyper. Designed for intermediate to pro guys who like to pump, ride down winders and ride small waves and pump back out the back without stopping. Designed for a balance of speed, pump, and carve.

With 4 options of front wing sizes, riders of under 60kg should choose the Hyper 150, under 80kg weight should choose the 170, heavier riders should choose between the 190 or 210 models for more control and stability.

Recommended race 18 tail wing option, adding to the speed and free flow riding style. For a softer, less locked-in ride choose the down-sweep tail “the Carve 16” which also makes pumping easier. The rudder tail "Flareseries” 12 or 14 is the recommended tail wing for beginners or kiters.

Vortex

The Vortex 150 is an ultra hi-performance foil. It is a smaller and more maneuverable foil than its bigger brother the 175. The reason being the aspect ratio on the 150 is higher, the chord shorter and lower drag from less surface area. Designed for a balance of speed, turning, and lift, without breaching.

Ultra hi-performance and fun, the Vortex 150 has great stability and a locked-in feel due to the double bottom concave on the wing. The 150 wing is preferred by our team riders and the pro guys who like to carve and ride the wave with hi-performance in mind. The 175 is preferred for larger rider or intermediates wanting to learn how to carve and pump needing more surface area.

Because the Vortex 150 is smaller and has less surface area than the 175 model, it is designed to be ridden by smaller riders, or in bigger surf. With the added speed you need less wing and less thickness in the leading edge keeps you locked in and means less chance of your foil breaching.

The Vortex 150 is perfect for tow foiling and bigger surf for heavier riders up to 100kgs. With the added speed and less thickness in the leading edge, it keeps you locked in and means less chance of your foil breaching at high speeds. The Vortex 175 is perfect for small to medium prone-foil days.

For a softer, less locked-in ride choose the down-sweep tail “the Carve 16” which also makes pumping easier. The rudder tail "Flareseries” 14 is the recommended tail wing for beginners or kiters.
